Your People’s United HSA will be transferred to HealthEquity

We are excited for the opportunity to serve you and continue building your health savings. Beginning May 26, 2022, you will begin receiving the world-class service for which HealthEquity is recognized. Below is a detailed timeline of the transition:

Timeline

4/15/2022 People’s United resignation letter sent to existing Health Savings Account (HSA) holders.
Week of 4/25/2022 HealthEquity® Visa® Health Account Card1 and welcome kit to arrive in the mail. When it arrives, be sure to update your direct deposit contribution information with your employer.
5/11/2022 Final day to opt-out of transfer by phone (800.772.1090, option 6) and either liquidate your HSA or complete a transfer request for your HSA to another custodian
5/14/2022 Contributions may be directed to HealthEquity
5/18/2022 Final day to authorize new transactions using your People’s United HSA debit card, including usage at ATMs.
5/25/2022 Final day to authorize new transactions or make contributions at People’s United
  • Last day to make payments using your People’s United HSA checks
  • Last day to make contributions at People’s United Bank HSA
  • Final day to access and download past statements and tax documents for your People’s United HSA from Online Banking
5/26/2022 Account balances are transferred from People’s United to HealthEquity. All contributions should be directed to your HealthEquity HSA.
5/27/2022 Members will be able to access their funds at HealthEquity via debit card1 and request reimbursement of qualified medical expenses online. Starting on this date, eligible investors will be able to invest in the mutual funds that are available on HealthEquity’s platform.
